The use of a GPS device has made orientation easier. But it is a machine and machines can stop working. Join this event if you want to learn how to know where you are and where to go while you are hiking. I will teach you the traditional way to know the place where you are and the direction that you have to take to finish your hike succesfully.

The area where we are going to hike is a little bit more difficult than in the last Orientation Session and it will be a good exercise to improve the orientation skills of the people that came to the last one. New participants are allowed to join this event as well.

We will hike in the Montsant Area.

You will learn:

• how to read a map
  
• how to use the compass
  
• how to plan your route
  
• the right behavior in the nature
  

I will send you a short guide before we go to the event.

We will have lunch in the Restaurant "Fonda El Recó" in Cornudella del Montsant (price around 20 EUR).

Make sure you bring the following with you:

• Hiking boots (water-proof)
  
• Warm and water-proof clothes (including gloves)
  
• Food (ome energy bars and fruit)
  
• Water (at least 2 liters)
  
• Compass (en castellano Brújula)
  
• A map of Montsant (recommended: Serra de Montsant, Ed. Piolet)
  

We are going by car. The driving costs will be split (aprox. 50 EUR). Available cars:

This event is limited to 20 people. People will be divided in "orientation teams" (of 3 people).

We'll meet at Palau Reial (Av. Diagonal / Tinent Coronel Valenzuela). You can see the location here.

This is a special event and the way of joining it is different:

• Car drivers will have preference. I will change your RSVP to Yes.
  
• People who attended to the last Orientation Hike in Montsant have preference (the Orientation Session had to be canceled because of the wind). I will change your RSVP to Yes.
  
• People who have attended more than 3 hiking events in the past can join the event in the same order that they join the waiting list. I will change your RSVP to Yes.
  
• The rest of the people have to join the waiting list. 15 days before the event, the free room will be made available for these people.
