Another Weekend plan for wine tasting & (probably not) hike is here (fifth edition).

The destination is the Priorat DOC and the sorrounding mountains

We will join on the usual place (Palau Reial), Friday, February 19th at 20h00. The transportation will be by car.

IMPORTANT: Alberto, the CLOWN will be the the "Assistant Organizer" in BCN. He is a big man with a white car...
Cars confirmed:

- Alberto (4 places) from BCN
- Cristina (rent-a-car) (4 places) from BCN
- Michel (4 places) from BCN, but outgoing to Andorra on sunday

- Sergio F (4 place) Driving directly from Alicante
- Fede (4 places) Driving directly from Scala Dei (Priorat)

For this moment, all the assitants in BCN can start by car

- Alternative travel: by train from Sants (BCN) to Camp de Tarragona: there some of the cars (that drives directly to Tarragona) will pick up people travelling by train

Petrol costs (aprox. petrol costs: 60 EUR) will be split. The car driver is responsible for requesting the costs of his/her passengers.

Friday, February 19th

Driving to the accomodation. The distance will be aprox. 150 km and 2h00 minutes in time.

Dinner for the first night will be done on route (probably at the AP-7 highway)

Accomodation: Cal Giral (Cornudella de Montsant)

Details: the lodging consist on two rural houses, each one with kitchen and all commodities. The house is in the middle of Cornudella and there will unnecesarily to take the car to go for dinner&party

TOTAL PRICE OF ACCOMODATION = 800€ (depending on final number of assistants, between 50 and 65 € per person)

Saturday, February 20th

Morning: Cellar visit: La Conreria d'Scala Dei

In 1997, three friends, a winemaker, a teacher and a priest, founded a small winery on the priest’s property in the emblematic hamlet of Escaladei, cradle of the Priorat.
They make wine from their own vineyards. These wines, recognised internationally, are a true reflection of the history and culture of this wine region.

Price: 6 €

Lunch: Restaurant El Rebost (Cartoixa d'Scala Dei). Menu: 20€

Afternoon: Cellar visit: Celler Burgos Porta

Burgos Porta es una empresa familiar de tradición vinícola que se remonta a principios del siglo XIX. La actual generación, formada por el matrimonio Burgos y Porta, ha creado esta bodega de elaboración de vinos ecológicos de calidad que se encuentra en el término municipal de Poboleda, en el Mas Sinén, del siglo XVII, una construcción de piedra rodeada de viñedos de la familia. Estas viñas se encuentran situadas entre los 300 y 500 metros de altitud, cultivadas en terrazas y en pendiente, con una extensión total de 15 ha Las vides, plantadas sobre suelos pizarrosos, tienen casi cincuenta años.
La elaboración de los vinos se realiza bajo el control del Consejo Catalán de la Producción Agraria Ecológica. Son vinos de elaboración artesanal a los que se les han aplicado nuevas tecnologías para obtener un producto de alta calidad.

Make sure you bring the following with you:
• Hiking boots (water-proof)
• Warm and water-proof clothes.
• Food for the hike (at least for your lunch and also some energy bars and fruit) unless you want to but something on saturday
• Water for the walk (at least 2 liters)
